District Jalaun is making significant strides in its development, despite its historical status as a relatively backward region. Within the community, there have always been individuals dedicated to providing direction for societal advancement. Among these individuals is Chaudhary Vishnupal Singh, a committed young leader and social worker, who has consistently expressed a desire to contribute to the development of the Jalaun district.
Dr. Arun Kumar Srivastava and Dr. Veena Srivastava, a dedicated couple committed to the enhancement of higher education, accepted the responsibility of incorporating the college's development into their broader life mission. Dr. Arun Kumar Srivastava took the lead in implementing the college's plans, while Dr. Veena Srivastava, along with Mrs. Purnima Saxena and Mrs. Iccha Raje, initiated awareness campaigns aimed at promoting higher education among the women of the region.
In discussions of the establishment of a college in the Kalpi region aimed at expanding access to higher education, Chaudhary Vishnupal Singh embraced this challenge wholeheartedly and assumed the responsibility for its realization. To effectively advance this initiative, he arranged for the necessary land acquisition, dedicating 25 acres of arable land for the college located in Atrakalan.
Following the completion of the college building, the institution commenced on October 25, 2001. The institution was subsequently awarded a Bachelor of Arts program in 2001. Through collaborative organizational efforts, Bachelor of Science programs in Mathematics and Biology were recognized in 2001. Subsequently, in the academic year 2004, a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture was also accredited. The college has continued to enhance its program offerings by introducing Teacher Education (Bachelor of Education, B.Ed.) and Physical Education (Bachelor of Physical Education, B.P.Ed.) in 2007, followed by Elementary Education (Diploma in Elementary Education, D.El.Ed.) in 2016.. In addition, state-of-the-art science laboratories were established, alongside modern administrative buildings and 20 lecture halls equipped with contemporary facilities.
The expansion of the college facilities is ongoing, which includes the construction of large laboratories for the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, extensive lecture halls, and a spacious courtyard. The institution is distinguished by its comprehensive faculties, which represent the highest standards of all colleges affiliated with Bundelkhand University.
