Progressive Path

Smt. Amrit Kunwar College, located in Atrakalan (Jalaun), was established in 2001 to promote higher education in rural areas. Since its inception, the institution has made significant strides towards achieving its educational goals. Instruction commenced in seven subjects: Hindi Literature, English Literature, Political Science, Defence Studies, History, Home Science, and Music under the Faculty of Arts, offering a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) course.

In 2001, the college expanded its offerings by introducing a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) course, which included disciplines in Mathematics and Biology.

In 2004, the college further advanced its development through two major initiatives. The first phase involved the establishment of the Faculty of Agriculture, accompanied by the reservation of 45 acres of land for agricultural education. In the same year, three additional subjects, Economics, Sociology, and Geography, were introduced in the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)

By 2006, the college gained accreditation to operate two additional faculties: Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) and Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed.). Authorization was granted to enroll 50 students in the B.P.Ed. program and 100 in the B.Ed. course, in accordance with guidelines set forth by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

Practical understanding in relevant subjects is facilitated through fully equipped laboratories in the disciplines of Arts, Science, and Agriculture.

The National Service Scheme (NSS) and the Rovers-Rangers Program are actively conducted to promote the holistic development of students. Presently, three units of the National Service Scheme are operational.

Given the college's rural location, transport services are provided by the institution via a bus operating along the Orai-Jalaun-Attarakalan route to accommodate students' commuting needs.

The college management is chaired by Ramakrishna Pal Singh, with Ch. Vishnupal Singh is serving as the Manager. Both individuals are committed to fostering the college's achievements in rural education, and with the collective efforts of the administration, the institution is poised to continue on a path of progressive development, offering vast opportunities for future growth.
